Teens grab boy and steal phone

A 12-year-old boy had his phone stolen from him by two teenagers.
The victim was walking along Ash Road, in Luton at 9pm on Tuesday while listening to music on his headphones.
He was approached by two teenagers who asked to see what the victim was using to play music, but when he refused the offenders grabbed him and he dropped his black Samsung mobile.
The teens picked up the mobile and ran from the scene towards Maple Road.
The first robber is described as a boy with an Asian appearance, approximately 13 years old, 5’ tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
The second is also described as a boy with an Asian appearance, approximately 13 years old, 5’ tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a blue and white jacket and a baseball cap.
The officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Constable Mandy Godfree, is keen to trace anyone who saw the incident.
DC Godfree said: “The victim is only twelve years old and quite shaken by what has happened to him.
“This is a residential area which is quite busy day and night.  Due to the time of year it would have been daylight at the time of the offence and therefore people may have been out and about.
“I would appeal directly to anyone who may be able to help identify those responsible for this crime, or anyone who may have seen two teenagers in the area matching the descriptions given, to come forward and assist with this investigation.”
Anyone with information about this crime can contact DC Godfree, in confidence, on 01582 473239, Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
